About Will

Will Chen's story reflects the promise of the American Dream and the values of the 32nd Legislative District: hard work, resilience, and service to community.
Thirty years ago, Will came to the United States with limited resources and a determination to build a better future. He worked his way through higher education, earning an undergraduate degree and two master's degrees from respected public universities in Iowa and Washington State. He later passed the CPA exam and built a career in corporate finance and public accounting. Will started and ran his own accounting firm, serving clients both locally and internationally, and continues to use his professional skills to support a variety of organizations and community efforts.
First elected to the Edmonds City Council in 2021, Will has served as Council President Pro Tem, Finance Committee Chair, Disability Board Council Liaison, Lodging Tax Advisory Committee member, and Port of Edmonds Council Liaison. Prior to his election, he served on the Edmonds Citizens Housing Commission, helping shape recommendations on the future of housing in the city. In 2023, Will co-founded the Asian Service Center, an Edmonds-based nonprofit focused on connecting underserved communities across South Snohomish County with resources and opportunity. He also serves as President of the Seattle Bing Kung Family Association, advocating for and supporting minority communities in the region.
Will brings a practical, solutions-oriented approach to leadership, grounded in integrity, fiscal responsibility, and equity in decision-making. He and his wife Lisa, a high school science teacher and union member in the Shoreline School District, live in the 32nd Legislative District and are committed to strengthening the community they call home.
